Sunrise above the clouds, an image that reminds me that the sun always shines behind the clouds! Even if you can't find the light or your days feel cloudy, I hope this is a reminder that the sun is always there and that there will be a moment when the sun finds its way back through the clouds and shine in its full glory.

This image was shot back in May 2012, when I just started learning photography. It's still one of my favorites. I remember waking up at 4 am to get ready for a hike to Sentinal Peak. We wanted to start hiking early – in the very dark – to reach Witches viewpoint before sunrise.

The walk-up to the viewpoint was heavy for me; I was out of breath. Probably because my body had to adjust to the altitude. I needed more short breaks, but luckily we arrived at the viewpoint in time, just before a perfect sunrise in one of the most beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Sites in South Africa.

The view was magnificent! To my excitement, a very thick mist inversion was present. The sunrise looked very promising and turned into one of my favorite images from the 4-day trip to Drakensberg Mountains.

Framing

The prints have been sized specifically to fit with standard universal and readily available framing sizes, making it possible to purchase a frame directly from a local supplier.

Each print is carefully crafted using one of the most beautiful and high-quality papers on the market, Hahnemühle Photo Rag® (Giclée).
